Garden Ecology Homeschool Series
This series is designed to complement your existing curriculum with monthly ecology-themed, garden-based programs for students ages 5 and up. The Garden Ecology Homeschool Series is scheduled for the third Thursday of the month, September through April, and will run from 9:00 a.m. until noon. This is not a drop-in event.
Each monthly program explores a science theme within the garden community. There will be formal instruction, games, guided discovery, and hands-on projects each session, as students learn “What is it?” “How does it work?” and “Why does it matter?” Programs are led by our trained volunteer staff. The schedule for the year is as follows:
September 21 Insects
October 19 Soil
November 16 Plants
December 21 Weather
January 18 Rare and Endangered/ Exotic and Invasive
February 15 Birds
March 15 Fungi
April 19 Water
Preregistration in advance of each program is required, so that we can ensure adequate staffing and program materials.
